The ancient mediterranean was the location of central trade and cultural exchange and was crucial to the development of several modern societies. The hot dry summers and mild rainy winters provide the perfect climate for specific crops grown in the region and from these crops I have developed the direction of the scent for a unique men’s cologne. The rugged people of the region work the land and fish the sea and would experience daily the fragrances of citrus orchards, cedar wood, amber musk and basil. What would make this product stand out from other fragrances would be the freshness factor harvested from natural, renewable sources free of pesticides, fertilizer. The market for this cologne would be college educated men within the age range of 25 to 40 who are conscious about the environment, care about the quality of the ingredients and what goes on their body. The market of college educated men is because they have more interest in their choices. The presentation of the fragrance would be made from recycled aluminum in the form of a flask which contours the body and would have more of rugged outdoors type of appearnce than a glass bottle. The aluminum will also protect the quality ingredients from exposure to the sun. This product would be sold at a higher price point because of the quality of the materials and the cologne would have a “freshness date” on the bottle. The size of the bottle will be a 1.7oz size sold at $25 for this size.

EOC Week Six My Favorite Soup
My favorite soup is Campbell’s Creamy Tomato soup in the microwavable container. It has a great flavor is easy to drink on the go, convenient since you can microwave it in the same container as you drink from it. It is also very filling for the time when you are running out the door to go to a night class or to the movies. Lastly it is a comfort food that goes especially well for that brisk evening for weather or you can have it cold for the summer time just like a refreshing V8. Other reasons for liking this soup is that it can be cooked with like adding it to a stew or stock as a thickener that will add some nice flavor to any dish. It is good for making a quick tomato based sauce for a meatloaf and goes along with a sandwich to make a complete meal.
And my recommendation for a new flavor would be the holiday favorite of “Mushroom, green bean and fried onions casserole”. I think that people would have an emotional connection to this product because many households prepare this item as a side dish for holiday occasions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is a comfort food that is filling and makes you think of the holidays. This variation of the Mushroom soup may help some people cut the amount of time of preparation in their holiday dinners. Additional cans of fried onions may be displayed together so that the person preparing the soup could add some more on top for additional crispy texture and flavor. Campbells may not own the fried onions that are typically used to make the casserole, but that should not deter them from making their own version for consumption. I would at least try this product and see if it is as good as my mom makes it during the holidays.
EOC My favorite Super Bowl commercial from 2010
My other two favorite commercials from the Super bowl 2010 was Universal’s trailer for the new “Wolfman” movie which premiered the following Friday after the Big Game. It gave me a good sense of the actors involved as well as the quality of effects that I would be seeing in this movie. The wolfman genre has gone from extremely low budget cheesy effects to high budget but not many effects as in the Jack Nicholson effort. I like the choice of Anthony Hopkins and Benicio Del Toro for the main actors. My other choice would have been the Simpsons’ Coke commercial because of its relevance to our current economy and all that is happening with people downsizing their lives and the loss of all of Montgomery Burns money puts a smile on my face too. The cameo appearance of spider pig swinging on the swing is just awesome. Coke is the only thing that helps Monty gets back on track again, so Coke and the Simpsons are a great pairing of marketing strategies.

EOC Week 4 Mad Men
I have seen Mad Men before which is a television show that is set in the 1960's in the advertising company Sterling Cooper on Madison Avenue in New York City. The main character is Don Draper who is the creative director
and a founding partner. It involves himself and the people that are in and out of his office life, but it really is about the changes of society and many things that were acceptable then, such as smoking at work, is not acceptable now.

EOC Week 4 Favorite Commercial from Super Bowl
My favorite commercial from the Super Bowl this year was the Doritos Commercial where the young boy slaps the date of his single mother. It was very funny like many Super Bowl commercials are, and it has a social twist to it with the single mother being one of the highest parts of the population according to the last census. So this ties in with our Marketing class. The video shows a man coming in to a home with flowers of a single woman with a small child. The woman takes the flowers to the kitchen, the man sees the Doritos and proceeds to eat them and the son hits the man in the face and says “don’t touch my Doritos and don’t touch my mom.”
